Where to go...

snej's post about San Francisco definitely makes me want to go back. I could actually imagine living there, despite the crazies, dirt, earthquakes, and insane (even by metro Boston standards) real estate prices. Other places I'd like to go:
Hong Kong
For the food, and a different kind of culture. Dim sum of the gods !
Germany
To see my mother's side of the family. It would be great for my grandmother to see her great-grandchildren.
London
Haven't been in a while, and I'd like to see my brother's family. Unfortunately, they can't put us up because they live in a tiny house...

Re:
Oaxaca -- there's a lot of pre-Columbian stuff there, right ?

I drove up Big Sur, it was amazing, albeit a bit frightening at times, even when driving on the right-hand (inside) of the road.

Bombay would be great. But you've got to be careful; my hall tutor was killed in a traffic accident in India. I think seeing India by rail would be fascinating.

I also forgot: New Zealand, Australia, Newfoundland, the Philippines (my wife's from there although most of the clan moved here). Most of my travel has been in the US, Canada, and Western Europe.
