Ladies and Gentlemen…

If you have a few minutes, there's a video you can watch that lacks words but speaks volumes about who is going to be the next President of the United States: there's a description and embed at Wonkette. [C-SPAN archive link]

The McCains disappear after about two minutes, which is why the camera doesn't show them for long. The Obamas stayed around for another twenty minutes after this video clip ends.

Yeah, I noticed that. CNN kept going back to live shots of the hall and Obama and his wife were still there talking with the audience members while old Scrooge McCrankypants was long gone.

I'm getting the feeling McCain's heart really isn't into the campaign any more. He's become pretty vicious and bitter and he's passed it on to his wife, whose screed today against Obama was, well, something pretty special.

Campaigning for the presidency is an extremely tiring thing to do, and it really must be taxing the 72-year old McCain. Even now, he's only doing one stump appearance a day, and today he blurted out “my fellow prisoners“ - ouch ! Obama's had some unforced micro-gaffes too, but overall he's poised and ready to keep on keepin' on.

It's funny, a lot of conservative commentators wanted McCain to somehow bring up Ayers/Rezko/Wright at the debate last night and go for the jugular, but, besides the fact that town hall questions just aren't going to touch on stuff like that when the economy is in the crapper, I really don't think it's in McCain himself to do that, not because he's some kind of saint, but because he's demoralized, weak, and mindful of leaving his remaining legacy of honor in tatters. So all he can do is seethe and be bitter.
