In preparation for the fun of autumn yard work, I thought I'd mow the lawn just a little shorter than I usually do. That way, the leaves are easier to rake and perhaps will even blow harmlessly, calmly, and quietly into the neighbors' lawns. Fine concept, as long as two huge chunks of paving (now where did that come from ?) and a rotting stump of a stump that was “almost” level with the ground aren't in the way, turning the mower blade into a twisted boomerang. But, hey, replacing the blade was pretty simple. Am I decadent or is it just not worth sharpening a blade when you can pick one up for $13 ?
I also got to put together a wire shelf with the help of a large deadhead mallet. Everybody needs a large deadhead mallet, trust me.
