They are starting to tear down the Peirce School in Arlington. Sad to see an old building like this go. It would have probably stayed up for another 100 years, but it just doesn't meet today's needs. (A lot of Arlington's old school buildings have been turned into condos and apartments.) The upside is that our kids will be going into school shortly after its replacement is completed. If it's anything like the Brackett School, it will be very nice indeed.
The demolition is already a local attraction -- neighbors would sit outside watching it, and while Sebastian and I were checking it out, cars would drive by and slow down.
