Holy Moly

Ike is a huge storm and making its presence known all along the western shores of the Gulf of Mexico. The winds are less intense than Katrina's worst, but are spread over a far larger area, and that means some areas will be experiencing intense winds for up to twenty hours. The real punch is coming from the storm surge, which is already flooding low-lying areas and causing problems as far as New Orleans.

Here's a weather station at Galveston's Pleasure Pier. I can't believe it's still not raining (if you look at the graph, there's no line), and the humidity sensor doesn't seem to be working either.
