The Backyard Front

We're being invaded by grackles. They are the black, iridescent, yellow-eyed gangstas of our backyard. About forty of them are trying to converge on our feeders. Since the snow we've also been visited by a Carolina Wren, a Purple Finch, starlings, and the usual cast of Blue Jays, sparrows, juncos, and chickadees. But no Tufted Titmice, which is kind of odd. And before, the snow, we had a visit from a Sharp-Shinned Hawk (he's the one with white in the wings).

O decided to stay home today so she can shake the cold she has. K and the kids are out right now, so O and I will be going out for some nice soup soon.

I applied for more jobs online, and got an interview set up for next week. Hopefully this is the start of a trend.
