Babble (A Glittering Prize)

Wonder of wonders, I actually got S0 to try something for dinner, chicken soup, and like it. And even S1 decided to try a little once big brother found it non-toxic.

Somebody's been messaging me on AIM with nuggets such as well.... and MUAAHHHH; since this is happening when I'm offline, these messages are getting forward to my cell phone. I think I am going suggest to AOL that only messages from people on your buddy list be forwarded this way. This person thinks my first name is something other than it is, but so far I haven't been able to contact them.

The Costello request show on A&E was good stuff; it was a lot like last tour. Observations: Burt Bachrach's voice is really gravelly now. Women love “Allison” even though it's not exactly the sweetest ballad. The host of the show is really unctuous, but Elvis took it stride. The guys from Ottawa who called up were astute enough to request “North,” but not sharp enough to notice that he already performed two songs from the album (maybe they tuned in late — sacrilege !). Davey Farragher sang back-up on a lot of songs, but his mike appeared to not be turned on.

I really do like that song “North” — I can't think of a lot of songs that the Imposter has written about things or places, but when he does it, as in “Hoover Factory,” the results have a lot of charm.

For you locals, Newbury Comics is have a 20% off sale until the October 3. This is very distracting and dangerous...
