So, I checked out the Clientele at T.T.'s last night. I left for the show late and was rewarded with parking space right in front the club. I missed the opening bands, though. The Clientele were a bit more dynamic and jazzy (!) that the mannered sound of their records would suggest, and this was all to the good; on the very first song they did, they went off into in a louder direction that was unexpected and exciting. They don't have a very wide range of moods (and they'll admit to that !), but they do a certain kind of Byrds/Love melancholy very well. They closed with a cover of “Lucy Had a Hard Time Sunday” by the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band.
I was going to make a grocery run after the show, but I found out that most of the area Shaws/Star Markets that used to be open 24 hours now close at midnight ! Bummer.
On the other hand, I'm pretty happy that I can work at home again, now that I've got a laptop for work, after a long gap without one.
