Yada yada

O is already down in NYC with friends; she left on one of the cheap Chinese busses this morning and must have got there by noon. She'll be back by Sunday morning. We're gonna go to her company's outing tomorrow, and then after she comes back by Sunday morning, we're going to a baby shower, which should be interesting since I've never been to one (kids are invited too, which is nice).

Yesterday the Tour de France went from Troyes to Nevers via the department of Yonne, which is where we had a very nice vacation in May 2000. The countryside looked pretty familiar (and pretty) and they even rode by Vezelay, which has a monastery on the UN Heritage Site list that we visited. I wanna go back now !

once again we are hopelessly hooked on the Tour de France. This year has had more crashes than I've seen before but the breakways have been exciting and there are a lot of new riders.

Also, Tyler Hamilton is orders of magnitude tougher than I am w/r/t his clavicle.

Damn
Did you see today's stage ? Hamilton finished with Armstrong !

Lance is still favored to win the Tour but I think it's going to be a lot more interesting than most had anticipated.

Re: Damn
watching tonight with my TDF-geek friends I said that my ideal finish would be Tyler Hamilton #1; Ulrich #2; Armstrong #3. Initially they railed at the idea but soon they came around. Not that I actually expect that result - but I would like it to happen that way.

I agree today's stage was amazing, and it's going to be a race.

This is the first full-contact Tour I've seen; and everyone's attacking Lance at once.

anything can happen.
