First, I love her spätzle, which is a kind of German egg noodle, a litte chewy. And her apple pancakes, which were thin and often curled at the edges, almost more like fritters. She'd also make this chocolate torte with lots of shaved bittersweet chocolate and lots of eggs (is that good or bad nowadays ?).
Ever eat at a place called Mom's ?
Two. There was a Mom's Kitchen in lower Central Square in Cambridge, and indeed it was momly, but the food wasn't that good. Much better was a place my friends took me to in South San Francisco called Mom Is Cooking, which had great homey Mexican food. They served yucca as a side dish, and it was real yummy. Sadly, I've never had it anywhere else.
