at some point MANY years ago, I was quite into TACKHEAD... and some really weirdass cover of "Stormy Weather." Wow... that's a flashback!

Another Tackhead Fan Emerges !
I caught Tackhead live twice. The first time, Sherwood and Gary Clail played the most amazing DJ set I've heard, period. Nobody could open for Tackhead, as Wimbish, Leblanc, and McDonald could blow anybody off the stage musically speaking.

I love that cover of "Stormy Weather," which was released under the name Fats Comet. I spent of lot time tracking down all the Tackhead-related singles... they were a busy crew back then...

i have "never trust a hippy" already (thank you, the internet) and it is very good. it doesn't sound very different from any of the dub syndicate albums of the last 10 years or so but it's still worth a listen. maybe a little more techno-fied than some of the recent on-u stuff.

stormy weather is available on the "power inc vol 1" compilation. both vol 1 and vol 2 are excellent, well worth owning. volume 3 is taken from live shows so there's nothing new there, but it's ok too.
