What I want to know is, is the new White Stripes as amazing as they all say?

So far, I'd have to say
No. It sounds like really well-done minimalist rock and roll, and I'm all for that, but only a few songs have really stuck with me on the first listen. Jack's voice seems to be more prominent on this one and that's a good thing, so we shall see.

For all the talk about how "quirky" Red Blood Cells was, it rocked like a mutha and has lots of strong hooks. After repeated listens to that one I really think he's underestimated as a songwriter. (B.T.W. he's also a big fan of your boy Brendan Benson.)

Re: So far, I'd have to say
I just read that Red Blood Cells was made on pretty short cash, especially to have done as well as it did, and that it's sort of spawning a new push to see who can spend the least and get the most bang for their buck, saleswise.

I don't think I've even heard anything from it. Guess I should!

And yay Brendan Benson!

wow. you always have great music news
A Simple Mathematical Proof:

I love the Bangles.
I love the latest Elvis Costello album.
I'm unemployed and have nothing but time.
ergo,
I must go to Amoeba records tomorrow.

(I thought they'd all become moms or something.)

thanks for the hot tip,

S

PS, it's probably actually called Amoeba Music but in my mind it's "records."

Well, you could amuse the staff and ask for the new Bangles “LP.”
