While getting coffee last week, I bumped into a guy I used with work with in my prior (Lisp) life; now he's working at Digitool, who have just finished their Common Lisp for Mac OS X.
Blue Man Group was a lot of fun, with an unbeatable combination of high art, flying paint, spurting custard, and invented musical instruments. The show, “Tubes,” is very much a product of the early 90s — they use a lot of the scrolling red LED signs (like Jenny Holzer) and at the end the theatre is transformed into a rave venue (the music is an old KLF tune). And what would be the perfect followup to this, on one of the coldest nights of the winter ? Why, ice cream at Toscanini's of course, where we bumped into one of my chums who attended an anti-spam conference. Two of the anti-spam guys had PowerBooks with Airport and evidently they were getting net access from somebody upstairs.
Anyway, back to the grind.
