T-Day

Well, it didn't start out that well; we were stuck in slow-moving traffic for about an hour on 128. However, there was food, folks, and fun to be had at my dad's. He's put out a lot of bird feeders in backyard, and I got to see the misleadingly-named Red-bellied Woodpecker. O brought salmon burgers and a chocolate chess pie, both of which went over big. And that Pats won, which is always good morale for the household. And, in accord with my newly advanced age, I even got to nap for half an hour after dinner !

your t-giving was catered by mcdonalds?

my father has a few blocks of suet up, and we get to see those pint sized powerhouses as well. the ferocity they let into that congealed lipid chunk is the stuff of nightmares!

No, I guess I am just an example of how effective their advertising was in the 80s !

Re: suet. When I was growing up in the 'burbs I used to hang it out for the woodpeckers and nuthatches and man that stuff gets nasty once the temperature gets above freezing ! But yes, the little beastie do tear into it, don't they ?

If only O were up…
Well, it's kind of southern and sweet and had a lot of nuts, like a pecan pie. Here's more !
