I remember even in the late '80s when the quality of vinyl was rapidly deteriorating. I bought and returned four consecutive badly-warped copies of The Cure's Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me before the store finally stopped accepting my returns on the grounds that it clearly wasn't going to get any better. My copy of Iggy Pop's Instinct looked like it had been stored in a bale of hay - hash-marked and weatherbeaten from the moment I cracked the shrink wrap. So, yeah, the fact that this is happening now is barely a surprise.

I went back to the store and got a much better copy – still not perfect, though :(

Why couldn't they have pressed a normal LP at a higher quality ? (This is one of those 2x45 dealios.). I'd rather have playability than a little more dynamic range, frankly..
