Yesterday was not only cloudy, but as dark as if some satanic mills from the Industrial Revolution were still blackening the sky. Today was a little better (with some stuff in the sky that looked like… blue clouds !). Sensing an opening, I tried to mow the lawn after dinner, but of course I didn't finish before a few more raindrops decided to join the party.

It's so bad that it's actually going to be sunnier in Seattle, where S0 will be spending some time with O's parents, than it will be here !

it's usually really sunny here in the summer, with not much rain at all.

What, you mean those "Seattle Rain Festival: January 1-December 31" T-shirts might be an exaggeration ? ;-)

"Sensing an opening..."

Astronomers call that a "sucker hole" — when you're up at the telescope during your long-scheduled observing time, but it's clouded over, and then you see the clouds breaking up and open the dome, but by the time you're ready to observe it's clouded over again.
