K00lnis from the Exposure Reissue

Did you know that there was a shelved remake of Alphaville ? There is a photo of a screen test with Deborah Harry as Natasha von Braun and Robert Fripp as Lemmy Caution in the booklet for the new Exposure reissue – I haven't been able to track down the exact photo on the DGMLive site, but I found this one. Part of the next photo in this sequence was for the original back cover of the album. Apparently you can see this on a DVD of a show called TV Party — that episode also featured Fab Five Freddy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Fred Schneider of the B-52s.

And what I would give to have been here when this picture was taken…

Originally Deborah Harry was to have sung on the album, but here management wouldn't allow it. I wonder what song she would've sung!
In retrospect, I'm glad the all Hall version didn't come out as the original. Can you imagince the album w/o Peter Hammill?

I've added you as a friend because I think you will enjoy my site. I'm reviewing my record collection. If you like it add me back! I found you via pure_impure.

Here is the review I wrote in 1979 (!) for Exposure:
