So That's How They Did It

Here's a in-depth article on how the Corpse Bride was animated – all the still images were shot on high-end Canon digital cameras, then put together with Final Cut Pro, Quicktime, Javascript, and Python fu.

The first time I saw a trailer in a theatre, I could have sworn it was computer animated, because the look is so clean. That's because of the very high quality of the Canon images, and the fact that the figures have a silicon skin.

That settles it, my next camera is a Canon.

They are definitely my first choice, if I could afford an SLR-type digital still camera (I have a Canon AE-1 with quite a few lenses in the closet). The guy who does “Birds As Art” uses Canon exclusively, and the stuff is pretty awesome even if there's also a bit of Photomashoppery in these images, too.
